19/40 Declaration of Interests
Cllr T Boswell declared a pecuniary interest in finance matters minute ref. 19/45

Minutes were agreed for accuracy.

19/43 Police Matters
Sgt Giles updated members after taking over as ward sergeant, being based at Pill Police Station and covering Newport West with 10 PC and 8 PCSO with another 8 PCSO being recruited in the future, members reported travellers camping near Church Lane, a camper van acting suspiciously at the cottage off Celtic Way, motor bikes racing around the area especially at weekends. Chairman thanked Sgt Giles for attending.
Police report for May: 6/5 Coedkernew House, attempted break in, 8/5 Blacksmiths Way, number plates stolen, 9/5 Duffryn Shops, male robbed shop, 31/5 Jamaica Circle, vehicle damaged.
Community Health Council looking for members for 3-5 days a month
CALM (Campaign Against Levels Motorway) sent 1st ministers decision paper cancelling the M4 Relief Road.
19/45 Finance Matters
Accounts have been completed and about to go to the auditor, report from internal auditor was given to members and members resolved that the accounts were in order and could be sent. Members were disappointed that we had to pay for an election that didn’t take place, clerk also explained that 2 payments to One Voice Wales was because OVW presented cheque after
31 March 2018. Clerk’s stipend for last year was agreed and expenses incurred, the chairman declared a pecuniary interest and took no part in the decision making. Clerk reported that the notice for the audit had been posted in the community and on the web site.

Litter pickers still continuing every other Tuesday, it was noted that the highway gulley’s were blocked on the road from the A48 to Church Lane, Cllr Suller will report, there was also an issue with grass cutting within the area Cllr Suller will look into matter. It looks as though the car park off Imperial Way has been pushed back to the autumn.
